A supporter of Liberation Tigers was shot dead in Kayts, an islet off Jaffna peninsula, by gunmen alleged to be belonging to paramilitary Eelam Peoples Democratic Party (EPDP) and Sri Lanka Security forces intelligence operatives at Friday 8 p.m., sources in Jaffna said.
Thurairajah Ravichandran, 34, was shot dead at close range by gunmen who entered the eating house owned by him located in Puliyankudal junction in the islet of Kayts.

Ravichandran, a father of four, was the third victim in a span of two weeks of a campaign of killing by paramilitaries alllied to Sri Lanka intelligence in the islet, residents said.

Despite the presence of a large Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) base close to the scene of the incident, the body was left unattended for several hours, residents said.
