It appears that the Sri Lankan state is employing two important methods to restrict the help to Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam from foreign countries. One of these is to intensify the propaganda activities against Liberation Tigers in Canada and the European countries, two sources which are considered to be providing the highest financial support to them. A special team consisting of Sinhala nationalists has been created for this purpose.
The other means is to weaken the Tamils gradually by infiltration - and to corrupt them culturally. It is learnt that this team, which has begun its activates in the European countries, is to extend its activities to countries like Canada and Australia. They are lobbying international diplomats in European countries urging them to take strong measures against Liberation Tigers.
The restriction placed by the European Union on the Liberation Tigers visiting European countries is considered to be the first step in this scheme. At the same time, strong efforts are being made to obstruct the growth of the weaponry strength of Liberation Tigers. A special intelligence unit has been sent by the Sri Lankan state to Thailand which is considered to be the main strategic point from which the weapons bought internationally by Liberation Tigers are sent to Tiger territory...
Sources indicate that the assistance of India has been procured to obstruct Liberation Tigers' international weapon purchase. India, which thinks that it would be harmful not only to Sri Lanka but also to her if the Tigers amass modern weaponry, has come forward to extend full co-operation. Analysts point out that the Indian media beginning to report mutual exchange of arms between Liberation Tigers and the Maoist fighters in Nepal, indicate this.
