The theme of the symposium was to promote the use of Tamil on the Internet. Presentations were geared towards a wide range of audience from general Internet users to content developers. Suggested topics of interest included, but were not limited to:

Character set issues on the Internet and WWW

Standardization

Keyboard Input Methods

Language processing issues with Tamil

Education on the Internet

Discussion Forum - A Summary Report

The 2 hour-long discussion session on the second day of the symposium came to a fruitful ending. The discussion panel (a total of 11 members) was led by Sujatha and included N. Anbarasan, S Kuppuswami, ST Nandasara, Kuppuswamy Kalyanasundaram, Malaan, Harold Schiffman, Vasu Renganathan, Muthelilan Murasu Nedumaran, Naa Govindasamy and Tan Tin Wee.
