Tamil Unicode Key Map

After a long search to find a Tamil Unicode keymap (I could not find a useful keymap),  I have decided to prepare a useful Tamil Unicode keymap . This keymap is based on Windows “Arial” Unicode and Tamil Unicode "Latha".

If the Tamil letters below are readable, OK, your system is supporting Unicode. Setting instruction is available in the bottom of this page.

இதில் உள்ள தமிழ் எழுத்துக்கள் சரியாகத் தெரிந்தால், உங்கள் கம்பியூட்டர் யுனிகோட் சப்போர்ட் செய்யும்.

யுனிகோட் என்பதை எழுத ய ு ன ி க ோ ட ் இப்படி எழுதனும்

க் - க ், கா - க ா, கி - க ி, கீ - க ீ, கு - க ு, கூ - க ூ
கை – க ை, கெ - க ெ, கே - க ே, கொ – க ொ, கோ – க ோ
ரி - ர ி, ரு – ர ு, ரூ - ர ூ, றி - ற ி, று - ற ு, றூ - ற ூ
றை – ற ை , பு - ப ு , பூ - ப ூ , ஷூ - ஷ ூ

க என்பதை முதல் எழுத்தாகக் கொண்டால், கி – இல் உள்ள சுழியை
இரண்டாவது எழுத்தாகக் கொண்டு கி - க ி இப்படி எழுதனும்.

This is the Tamil Unicode keymap (English key letter is in the middle, to show key position)

There is clear big Tamil keyboard map with English key and without English key for "Latha" Unicode.  Also, the above page is availabe in Acrobat file.

First download the Font “Latha” file and save it to any folder. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, double click Fonts, from File menu Install New Font… , select Font folder, select latha.ttf and click OK.

Set as a default font for Internet Explorer to read all Internet based Tamil pages, please do the steps:  Click the Tools menu and select Internet Options, Click on the Fonts button, Language Script - pick User Defined, Web page font - set it to “Latha” and click OK.
